Limes Farm Bakery
There has been bread made at the Limes Farm site since medieval times. We know this for sure because when we were renovating the listed building, which is now the shop, we discovered the old and original bread oven.
It's really exciting to bring this craft back to the farm and we are very passionate about it. We make all our bread from scratch which means we get up very early, mix the flour we got from our local mill with water, yeast, a tiny amount of salt and sugar and then we wait. We now have a small team of bakers preparing fresh bread, cakes and tarts for you each day. These are available to buy now and will also feature on our tearoom menu as soon as the shop is open in July 2010.
The smell and the excitement of opening the oven door to see those perfectly risen loaves makes the early alarm call worthwhile.
